Because of our own life threatening allergies, we understand the need to avoid cross contamination. Canadian labelling regulations prevent us from stating that pure uncontaminated oats are gluten-free. Therefore, excluding the wheat-free, pure oats used for our oatmeal cookies, all of the flours and ingredients used in the Newton's No Gluten bakery are wheat, gluten, and nut free. That is why each bakery product has it's own dedicated pans or trays and is cooled on it's own racks. We also sanitize our mixing equipment after each batch is made. Our Sandwich Bread has it's own slicer and packaging area. This prevents cross contamination with any of the other breads and their ingredients. All other breads share a second slicer so trace amounts of any ingredient from any loaf of bread may be present. While we do our best to clean the slicer between bread types we can make no guarantee that trace amounts of product are not exchanged. To eliminate this opportunity for cross contamination you can pre-order your bread unsliced. |
